Fashion report by Dejan Kovačević

Predstavljamo vam kolumnu dragog prijatelja whattafashion.com i novog člana našeg tima, mladog, talentiranog srpskog dizajnera Dejana Kovačevića, čiji prvi tekst, fashion report iz Milana donosimo u originalu.

Buongiorno svima.

Do tada…

Arrivederci

Buongiorno everybody

I have just returned from Milan to Treviso, tired I lie on my bed and drink tea with apple and cinnamon while the first snow is falling slowly. It is a perfect time to write my first column for you.
As I already said I returned from Milan where I was for 3 days where I had a chance to visit the fashion fair “Milano Unica”. For those not familiar with the fair, I will briefly describe it for you. “Milano Unica” is the largest fashion fair in Italy, where a number of companies in the fashion industry present their range of propositions for next season in mini showroom’s. As a designer, this kind of event is very important for me .

With initial ideas for the next collection for Atelier “settecento” my boss gave me an opportunity to visit the fair so I could chose companies that fit our demand and make some new contacts and collaborations. There were various exhibitors. Almost every firm from fashion industry, from manufacture to well-known firms such as Zegna and Cerruti, from all over Italy presented their products for the next season. Since this is the third time I am visiting this fair, I couldn’t be surprised again for the courtesy and politeness of exhibitors.

For appointments already made you will be offered an espresso and chocolate, already prepared range of choice for you in relation to your needs. Before going to the fair off course you must register online and ask for the pass card. This can not be done unless you are part of a registered company. The fair lasts for 3 days, which is enough to visit all the exhibitors in a rather fast rhythm. It is divided into thematic pavilion of the buttons and zips, the “Area trend” with the new trends in general, the male sections, entire floors dedicated exclusively for fabrics and printing, etc.

When I go to Milan, unfortunately, is almost always for business, and I barely get to have coffee at Duomo. Either way Milan is a city that always awaits for me with open arms, full of energy, so I’m always sure that I will spend a wonderful time and breathe the air of one of the world’s fashion capital.

In about a week I’m going back to Milan, for Fashion Week I announce to you a couple of columns written on the spot, with photos of street style, the impressions of the shows and a parties. Until then …

Arrivederci
